FRS TWINS WITH EMUNA SYNAGOGUE IN VITEBSK, BELARUS

All hands on deck – they need our help!

Vitebsk is situated on the North East of Belarus, approximately 290km from Minsk. Emuna has 138 members, but there are approximately 3000 Jewish people living in Vitebsk. Life there is hard. There is a lot of poverty, living facilities are very basic, with some families living in one room, with no heat or light, and it can be very hard to make ends meet. They really need our help. Winters there are very cold and coats and jumpers are expensive and a luxury.  It is our aim at FRS to raise money to send warm clothes for the winter.  We are going to do this by holding a fundraising:

SOUP KITCHEN BINGO NIGHT AT FRS

SAT 13TH SEPTEMBER 6 – 9PM
ALL AGES WELCOME

£10 adults
 (or £15 if you would like to buy the shipping of half a box full of clothes to Vitebsk in the cost of your ticket)
 £8 OAP’s
 £6 under 12’s

If you book a whole table of 10, you will get one ticket free.

Bingo tickets on the night will be exchanged for a donated item of warm clothing – a coat, a hat, a jumper, a scarf or gloves!!

Finally – Emuna  desperately need stationery items: pens, pencils, crayons, felt tips, paper, file paper, rubbers, rulers etc. From Monday 21st July there will be a box in the synagogue front hall where you can deposit any such items. Please drop by and drop in any unwanted stationery items so we can send them on. Thank you.
