We welcome inquiries about membership from anyone who is Jewish and is seeking a supportive community or a meaningful spiritual home. Please contact the office on 0208 446 3244 or frs@frsonline.org

We encourage our members to become involved with an aspect of Jewish life which is meaningful to them, and all volunteers are welcomed and appreciated.

Finchley Reform Synagogue:

  • Is an active and diverse community, welcoming members from all parts of the Jewish community and from round the world.
  • Is renowned for our excellent kindergarten
  • Offers a wide-ranging and exciting programme for young people, including an excellent religion school, youth clubs and holiday schemes
  • Has a strong tradition of welcoming and supporting proselytes, either as individuals or with their Jewish partners
  • Offers and encourages a wide range of religious services, including family services and innovative parallel Shabbat services once a month.
  • Values music and communal singing very highly, and supports both a voluntary choir and a team of individual lead singers for services.
  • Is a forward thinking community, unafraid of controversial issues and encouraging diversity
  • Encourages and supports our members to get involved in Jewish learning and cultural life both within the synagogue and in the wider Jewish community.
  • Believes in caring for the whole community – their partners and families.
  • Started hospitality lunches and campaigns for the homeless in Barnet which resulted in the building of a Homeless Day Centre
  • Has an enormously successful charity committee that has helped Jewish and non Jewish causes for many years
  • Has a deep commitment to Israel and peace and a strong relationship with cross-communal and multi-faith organisations there
  • Is the closest Reform synagogue to the Sternberg Centre, site of the Leo Baeck College and headquarters of the Reform movement
  • Has provided a disproportionately high number of lay leaders involved in the RSY-Netzer youth movement, the Reform movement and the wider Jewish community.
