Our topics for the next term for the children in the Chicks class will be as follows: -

Date 08/01/2007		Topic Winter			We will be learning the following songs/ rhymes: The sun has got his hat on. Weather song. Build a snowman	Suggested activities to do at home Talk about the cold weather and the animals that live outside in the cold. Hang up a bird feeder and watch the birds together.
Date 15/01/06		Topic All about me.			We will be learning the following songs/ rhymes: I have a body. Heads shoulders, knees and toes. One, finger one thumb	Suggested activities to do at home Look at photographs of when your child was a baby, toddler and now talk about how we grow bigger each year until adulthood.
Date 22/01/07		Topic Shabbat			We will be learning the following songs/rhymes: David Melech. Bim Bom.	Suggested activities to do at home Talk about celebrating Shabbat. Allow your child stay up for Shabbat dinner let them help with the brachot.
Date 29/01/07		Topic TU B’SHEVAT We would like the children to taste 15 different fruits for Tu b’Shevat , please send in a piece of fruit from the list on the notice board for Thursday.			We will be learning the following songs/rhymes: Tu B’Shevat Higya. Trees are blowing in the wind. I had a little nut tree.	Suggested activities to do at home Look at different kinds of trees. Talk about the different things that we get from trees.
Date05/02/07		Topic CHINESE NEW YEAR Please send in one vegetable for stir-fry on Wednesday.			We will be learning the following songs/ rhymes: Chinese New Year.	Suggested activities to do at home Visit China Town, eat Chinese food. Talk about how you celebrate our New Year.
Date 20/02/07-14/03/06 CLOSED 19^TH FEB staff inset.		Topic PURIM Purim Spiel and songs on Friday 2^nd March, please join us at 1130 Fancy Dress Purim party 1st March- please send in contribution of party food from list.			We will be learning the following songs/rhymes: Letzat katan Chag Purim Ani Purim Come and see our Purim Spiel	Suggested activities to do at home Talk about parties and fancy dress costumes. Visit the synagogue to hear the Megila reading.

	Date 12/03/07-30/03/05		Topic PESACH AND SPRING	We will be learning the following songs/rhymes; One morning when Pharaoh woke in his bed, Ma nish ta nah, Dig, dig, dig			Suggested activities to do at home Talk about how you celebrate your Seder at home. Let them help you set the table and make up the Seder plate.
