Butterflies

The children had been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly and were reading Eric Carle’s book ‘The Hungry Caterpillar.’ We ordered live caterpillars and the children were able to watch them grow into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies. We released them to nature waving goodbye as they flew away and were left to wonder at the empty cocoon that was left behind.
