We have clear guidelines at the Kindergarten which are available to all staff
and parents. We operate a policy of praise and approval to encourage good behavior. The children are shown clear boundaries
of what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior and where necessary, the staff
exercise gentle but firm discipline. Parents are consulted in the case of
persistent difficulties and are able to discuss this in detail with the Head
teacher.
Communication
Newsletters are regularly distributed as are full details of the topics we
will be following. The Head teacher attends a termly coffee morning for parents.
Parents can also contact her either by phone or at the Kindergarten to arrange a
meeting to discuss any issues relating to their child. A notice board situated
in the foyer is used for daily notices and timetables.
Health and Safety
The Kindergarten is inspected by Ofsted.
Fire drills are held and recorded every half term. Staff hold first-aid
certificates and a fully equipped first aid box is kept at the Kindergarten.
There is a trained security guard on site at all times when the kindergarten is open.
Parents are asked to provide us with information regarding the children's
health and vaccinations. We ask that each child who is sent to the kindergarten
be in good health and be non-infectious.
A full Health and Safety policy is held in the Kindergarten and parents can
ask to see this.
