Admissions

Children may start with us once they reach the age of 2 years 6 months if their parents wish. However we recognize that not all children are ready at the same time and therefore some will start in the term of their third birthday. Children should be toilet-trained before they commence at the kindergarten.

Places are allocated to members of Finchley Reform Synagogue in order of registration,  a non-refundable deposit of £250 will secure the place for members, the £250 deposit will be deducted from the last term's fees. Non members and siblings pay £250 registration fee and will be informed if their child has a place at the kindergarten prior to the April term before the academic year in that their child is due to start, siblings will receive priority.  The £250 registration fee will then be set as a non-refundable deposit once places have been confirmed, however if we are unable to offer a place at this time, a full refund of the £250 registration fee will be made. A term's notice is required if you intend to remove your child from the Kindergarten either prior to starting or during the time your child is on role. If sufficient notice is not given, a term's fees must be paid.

In order to ensure that children settle as smoothly as possible, we ask that parents bring their child to visit at least six times in the term preceding their start date. The Headteacher will arrange a mutually convenient time for these visits.

We encourage parents to stay and settle their child in the first few days to ease the separation process, and ask that parents make themselves available to collect their child early during this time if they become distressed.

The Kindergarten recognises the special needs of children and their families in the community and will consider what part it can play in meeting these needs.
