Religion School Teachers sought

 Creative and inspiring Hebrew and Jewish studies teachers for Religion School on Sunday mornings.

 Applicants should have:

1.      A good knowledge of Jewish history and practice as well as basic Hebrew
2.      Proven experience in teaching Jewish religion and history.
3.      Commitment to the Reform Movement and its values.
4.      Creative and innovative thinking.
5.      Experience in working with young people and their families.

About Cheder

FRS has a thriving religion school held at the synagogue.

Kitot Gan - Vav (ages 4 -11) attend on Sunday mornings 9.45am - 12.30pm

Our teachers are all very experienced and committed, and are supported by a team of madrichim (class assistants) of FRS teenagers.

We have introduced many new activities and events in which both the children and their parents can participate, e.g. Tu B’shevat and Pesach Sedarim and special assemblies for the festivals and Yitzak Rabin’s Memorial Day.

We also hold Chavurah suppers on Friday nights and Family Shabbatot and Havdalah Services on some Saturdays.

We take the children on educational trips to the Jewish museums, the Jewish East End and other places of Jewish interest, and run some very enjoyable - but sleep-deprived - Donut and Cheesecake Weekends on Chanukah and Shavuot respectively.
