FRS runs two international trips during the year for our teenage members together with a number of other synagogues, giving the students a chance to reconnect with their friends from RSY summer camps as well as make new friendships.
These trips include several nights stay in a 3 star hotel and provide a great opportunity and unique experience for our teenagers to learn about Jewish communities outside of the UK and away from their parents!
In Year 9 they visit Amsterdam where the highlights include visiting Anne Frank’s House, a walking tour of the Jewish Quarter and a Pizza canal cruise.
The following year, in Year 10, they visit Prague, where the highlights include the Vltava River and the Charles Bridge, Looking for the Golem and visiting Altneushul and the Pinkhas synagogue.
The trips vary in price according to the number of participants and value of the currency. Each trip is led by a professional member of staff and two youth leaders (aged 18+). Please note that no-one is ever excluded from FRS activities due to financial reasons.
